친애하는 콜롬비아 참전용사분들께

  안녕하십니까, 15기 부경대학교 UN 서포터즈 입니다. 오늘 저희는 콜롬비아 참전용사분들께 한국 전쟁 참전에 대한 감사와 애도를 표하고자 합니다. 대한민국이 자유를 되찾고 평화를 지킬 수 있도록 열과 성을 다해 애써주신 콜롬비아 참전용사분들께 진심으로 감사드립니다. 한 국가의 평화를 위한 여러분들의 굳은 의지와 빛나는 용기 덕분에 대한민국은 비로소 진정한 평화와 자유를 가질 수 있게 되었습니다.

  콜롬비아는 6.25 전쟁이 발발하자 1951년 6월 15일 부산항으로 출항하였습니다. 콜롬비아군은 라틴아메리카의 유일한 참전국으로서 보급선단 엄포, 해안 초계, 함포 지원 사격 등 여러 작전을 수행하였습니다. 그들은 8월 흑운토령 전투를 시작으로 불모고지 전투, 삼각고지 전투, 금성 진격전에 참여하여 승리를 거두었습니다. 이 중 불모고지 전투는 중공군의 공격을 물리치고 전초선을 방어하며 큰 성과를 거둔 전투였으나, 단일 전투에서 가장 많은 희생자가 발생한 전투이기도 했습니다. 
  총 5,100명의 육∙해∙공군이 참전하였고, 163명의 전사자와 448명의 부상자가 발생했습니다. 콜롬비아는 16개 전투지원국 중 가장 마지막으로 6.25 전쟁에 참전하였지만, 끝까지 병력 1,000명을 유지하기 위해 3차례 파견을 진행하며 한국 전쟁에 지원을 아끼지 않았습니다. 끝까지 자유와 평화를 수호하기 위해 싸워주셔서 감사드립니다.

  평범한 일상 속에서 마음 편히 하루를 보낼 수 있다는 거대한 행복이 참전용사분들의 노고 덕분임을 항상 기억하겠습니다. 먼 타국일지라도 청춘을 받쳐 헌신하신 참전용사분들의 숭고한 희생에 깊은 존경을 표합니다. 참전용사분들의 용감한 역사를 잊지 않고 은혜에 보답하는 성숙한 부경UN서포터즈가 되겠습니다. 감사합니다.

  Dear, Veterans of Colombia

  Hello, this is United Nations Supporters of Pukyong National University. Today, we are here to express our condolences and gratitude on behalf of all the veterans of Colombia who sacrificed for the Korean War. Thank you in all sincerity for defending Korea and striving for peace and liberty with your noble lives. It is undoubtedly your boundless courage and strong determination that have rescued countless Korean refugees and fulfilled the aspirations of a nation yearning for peace.

  Colombia arrived in the Busan Port on June 15th of 1951 to support Korea. The Colombian military, the only troop from South America, tried several operations such as implementing coastal patrol system and supporting artillery fire. The Columbian military participated in the Battle of Heukun Toryeong, the Battle of Bulmogogi, and the Battle of Triangle Hill, ultimately achieving victory. In particular, the Battle of Bulmogogi not only resulted in a significant victory by repelling the Chinese army’s attack and defending the front line but also stands as a tragic battle with the highest number of casualties in a single engagement.
 A total of 5,100 Columbian veterans from the Army, Navy and Air Force participated, with 163 killed and 448 wounded.  Although Columbia was the most recent to participate in the Korean war among the 16 supporting nations, they conducted three deployments to maintain a force of 1,000 troops throughout the war, demonstrating unwavering support for the Korean War. We are grateful for their dedication to defending freedom and peace of Korea until the end of the war. 

  We sincerely thank and respect the Columbian veterans for devoting your stunning youth for peace and liberty of Korea. Just as the veterans rescued Korea in crisis, we will also be the one who can give a hand to any country that needs desperate help. We will always remember the history of bravery you demonstrated during the Korean war, and remain forever aware that we obtained freedom and peace through all the sacrifices you made. 
  United Nations Supporters of Pukyoung National University expresses infinite gratitude and respect for the noble sacrifices and dedication that Columbian veterans have devoted to Korea.
