UNMCK - UNITED NATIONS MEMORIAL CEMETERY IN KOREA

Hello, I’m a high school student of South Korea. I want to tell you my story and Korea’s situation. I’m now 19-year-old, so I have to prepare an important test to go to university. But as you know, COVID-19 is prevalent in Korea, so I can’t go out of my house. It is little bit hard to study at home so I’m anxious about my future. The beginning of the school is also postponed to april 6th (originally, it should have been at march 2nd) It also depends on the situation, so it means that it could be delayed again. Because of that, I can’t meet my friends and I can’t go to library. Also, I can’t exercise outside. I like basketball, but it is hard to play basketball and also watch basketball. Korean basketball leagues are all closed, and also nba is stopped for at least next 3 months. Also, masks are very scarce, so we could buy them only once a week and the number is limited to 2. The biggest problem is the economy. It is not the problem only in Korea. Whole world is getting economically bad. Especially the self-employed people and stocks. Because of the globalization, prohibiting other countries to enter the country is critical. Actually in Korea, the most severe place is Daegu. 9137 people are infected, and 6456 people are people from Daegu. Hospitals are very scarce, so many hospitals are used to cure people and a lot of doctors and nurses volunteered to go to Daegu and help people get better. Thanks for these effort and help, we are getting well. Korean people are dealing with the virus by staying at home, volunteering to help people infected to corona virus, and donation of celebrities to help people. I hope we could overcome this crisis soon. Also the whole world too!! Fortunately, Vaccine is smoothly being developed, and COVID check is rapidly progressed by driving-through, and it is also applied to other countries. Food problems are easily solved by delivery service(so we don’t have to go outside for food!!). Mask problems will be solved because Samsung successfully bought a lot of mask filters. Also, to help people, the government decided to give money(though it is too small…). 3730 people are recovered from the virus, and under 100 people are being newly diagnosed to be corona virus per day. By the way, are you safe? I’m also worried about your health. I heard that elderly should be more careful… Please be careful and be healthy!!! Through this corona problem, l could think about the importance of helping other people or other countries in crisis. I want to thank you for your precious help during the Korean war. It should have been very hard to join in the war to help other country because it could make you dangerous. Because of your help, we could make our country well.
