Dear Korean war veterans

Hello!! My name is Lee Chae Young and I am 15 years old. I am living in Seoul, South Korea. I am second grade in Jingwan middle school but I didn't experience the life of second grade because of corona virus. To start, I want to thank you so much for your sacrifice. If there was no safrification, I will not be living in such a wonderful country. These days, still corona virus is existing. When the virus was first spreading, I thought it will disappear soon. But about 8 months, and it is still existing in the world. Now, I am familiar with wearing mask. Corona change lots of our lives. After corona, we don't meet friends frequently. Also, since we have lot of time staying at home, I am reading a book. It is so sad that I can only go to school one week in whole month. 2 days ago, it was Korea's holiday, Chuseok. So I went to my grandmothers house. Me and my cousin met 3 month before and I was so happy to meet her.  Since I have an exam 3 weeks later, I needed to study. I was so sad that because of corona virus, since we don't go to school, we have to learn by ourselves in home. It is hard because if we have some questions to ask to teacher, we can't ask. Also, there is a lot of constraint in studying online. Next week, I am going to go to school so I am very nervous. 1 month ago, at school, we had an school president election. I was very lucky that I was elected. So when I go to school in Monday, I am a school president!! Many people nowadays wish to go back to 2019. We didn't realize in 2019 that the life we are living is very happy and wonderful. We didn't realize the relationship with our friends, families. We didn't thank small things and just thought our lives is so boring. But now I realize, the life we are living is very valuable.
When I was young, I always thought that participating to another country's war was quite easy. But it was wrong. Deciding to join the war must have been very difficult and scared for you and other Korean war veterans. The war was happening in a country that is not known word widely, but you decided to participate! I want to imitate your braveness and sacrifice. I will live my life with braveness and always help people who is in danger. I will do my best to help the citizens. It is sad that South and North Korea is still devided and failed to unify, but I think one day, we will be one. Our government and citizens are trying hard. We will never forget your contribution and sacrigfication. Thank you for your sacrifice, and I appreciate one more time. Stay healthy and let's win the fight with corona virus!!

Sincerely, Lee Chae Young
