Burial Story
Atkinson was the UK veteran Jim Grundy's cousin. (Jim is buried in the Veterans' Grave Area in the UNMCK.) He was born in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, the son of Harry and Eliza (nee Buckley) Atkinson. The burial report states that Atkinson died of drowning. As a member of the catering corps and death occurring after the cease-fire, presumably his death was completely accidental.
