Burial Story

A young West Australian jet pilot, Pilot-Officer Henry Dudley Andrews (24), was killed in an air collision. The Meteor jet aircraft he was piloting crashed after colliding with another Meteor. The pilot of the other jet, Sgt. Dalway Oswald, of Melbourne, was riot injured. His aircraft returned to the squadron base. Andrews was to have married Miss Pat Birchall, a month later. Educated at Kent-street High School in Victoria Park, he was a control operator for the Whitfords Broadcasting Network before he joined the R.A.A.F. in 1947 as` a radio maintenance mechanic.
