Volunteering at the UNMCK

After studying about the UNMCK and going through the test that checks my ability to volunteer for two times, I was finally allowed to do volunteer work at the UNMCK. On March 14th, due to the fact that it was the first day of my volunteering, I went to the UNMCK in a nervous state. I went straight to Memorabilia Hall, the place where I had to guide.

Not only was it my first time to actually do volunteer work at the UNMCK, but it was also my first time to guide anyone about a place. Therefore, I was very anxious at first. However, as I showed the Memorabilia Hall to many people, I eventually felt very comfortable with showing around the UNMCK to the visitors. This was because most visitors showed a lot of interest toward the UNMCK, making me explain much easier. The most memorable visitor was a foreigner who introduced himself as a teacher at an academy. In fact, it wasn't easy to guide in English (since it's not my mother toungue) but my explanation went well because he created a very comfortable mood to explain. After 2 hours or so, I went to the Representative Area to guide. Almost all the people that could be seen there were either looking at the beautiful scenery or taking a short walk, so they didn't want any guidance. I felt somewhat weary not being able to find anyone who needs my help at first, however I became fine because many people showed great concern for me for I was standing in the cold weather with thin clothes on.

My first day at the UNMCK ended up like this. Even though the weather was cold, it wasn't hard guiding because it was very worthwhile. I'm heading to the UNMCK again this Sunday, and I hope to maintain what I'd felt on my first day of volunteering on my second day guiding.
