Hello, my name is Jimin Ahn. I’m high school student in Korea. As you all know, the COVID-19 is a problem all over the world these days, right? Korea couldn’t avoid COVID-19 either. Because of the virus, the starting school has been postponed and it’s been hard for us to meet our friends. In Korea, people practice ‘social distance’ to prevent further damage! ‘Social distance’ is about meeting friends and colleagues to reduce unnecessary contact. How is the place where you are? I don’t think it’s going to be a good situation there. At times like this, you have to do your personal cleanliness thoroughly! That way, we can safely overcome these difficult times. This is the first time in my life that starting school has been postponed! It is quite inconvenient to stay at home without going to school or meeting friends for more than 3 months. Since our school is a dormitory school, I think we are more cautious about starting school. You know, many people live together in a dormitory, if one person gets infected, there will be too much damage. I can’t wait to see my friends and study at school. I got some really good news while watching the news yesterday. It was about the new that many countries abroad want to get a diagnostic test kit for COVID-19. Actually, it’s kind of hard to say it’s a good news, isn’t it? But the reason I said it was good news is because I think South Korea is becoming a country that has developed a lot in terms of health care. I think thanks to you, South Korea was able to make such a big development. Because you worked hard with Korean soldiers in crisis, I think Korea overcome the difficulties quickly. If you hadn’t helped our country, the Korean War probably wouldn’t have ended. If the Korean War was not over and we had a COVID-19 like now, we wouldn’t have been able to get over this difficult situation. That’s why I think the good news I heard yesterday was because of you guys. In this situation, I decided to study harder than now. The damage caused by COVID-19 is serious in Korea, but now other countries like the United States and Italy are also suffering serious damage. My dream is to create artificial intelligence that can provide psychological counseling! I heard that there are a lot of people who are having a hard time mentally because their daily lives are not free. But now that we’re trying to minimize contact, it’s hard to hold face-to-face counseling. I hope there aren’t more people who suffer from a lot of stress when something like this happens, and I thought that the AI I wanted to create could be useful in situations like this. So I’m studying harder than before to make my dream come true! Of course, this is a difficult situation for me and for you, but let’s get through it together! I always remember and appreciate your hard work on the battlefield for us. Now, we will work hard for you and the world to fight the virus and make a good world. Take care of yourself, and I’ll write you another letter next time. THANK YOU, KOREAN WAR VETERANS!
