The Turn Toward Busan International Memorial Ceremony, commemorating the sacrifices and contributions of UN veterans for peace and freedom in Korea, was hosted by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs at the United Nations Memorial Cemetery.
1. Interment Ceremony for a UN Unknown Soldier
Before the Turn Toward Busan event, the Interment Ceremony for an UN Unknown Soldier was held. This ceremony marked the first interment of remains of an unidentified UN soldier, discovered post-armistice, at the United Nations Memorial Cemetery.
2. 턴투워드부산 추모식(Turn Toward Busan)
At 11:00 AM sharp, the ceremony began with a one-minute silence to honor the fallen. Over 800 individuals, including H.E. Kang Jung-ae, the Minister of ROK MPVA; the Honorable Park Heong-joon, the Mayor of Busan; ambassadors and diplomats of the sending states of the Korean War, H.E. Suh Jeong-in, the Custodian of the UNMCK, and the UN veterans and their families, gathered for the ceremony.
