Dear Mr. Kenick,
Thank you for your kind encourgement.
I'm afraid but I couldn't find your friend Mr.Won Young Duek who was a KATUSA.
I contacted the Korean Army but they had no record of "KATUSA". Therefore I asked the Military Manpower Administration but I couldn't get any positive answers from them. They keep the then record of "KATUSA" who participated in the Korean War but they do not know the current information of them at all.
I also contacted the Ministry of Patriates and Veterans Affairs and got answered that they didn't have any record of Service No 10044746. Although there are two Mr.Won Young Duek with different service no, unfortunately both of them passed away.
I'm sorry to say nothing about your friend, even though I try to trace him out.
