Hello,
The UNMCK was the basis of an extraordinary piece of luck for my wife Robyn and myself during our recent visit to South Korea.
We decided to take the fast KTX train from Seoul to Busan, mainly for the experience of travelling at 300 kph to another part of Korea.
At Seoul Station, we began chatting to Jim (surname unknown) from Manchester, UK who told us that he travelled every year to Busan as part of his service to UNMCK, on whose behalf he secured photos from relatives of soldiers buried at the Cemetery. Jim urged us to visit the UNMCK while in Busan and this is where we left him in Seoul as he was catching a later KTX train.
It was only when we arrived in Busan that we discovered that we had left our digital camera on the bench at Seoul Station while waiting for our train.
Having given up the camera as lost, we decided to call at UNMCK as part of a Busan City bus tour and during our visit, happened to call at the Admin Office.
We were astonished to find Jim there and what's more, he had our camera as he guessed we might call there. After this truly lucky reunification with our camera, I took the attached photo which shows Jim, Robyn and two more UNMCK staff. I have also attached a photo of Robyn anf myself at the UNMCK.
We found UNMCK to be a moving experience and congratulate all concerned at preserving such a suitable memorial to all who gave their lives in the War.
